Common Monsters

A zombie is generally the equivalent of a level 3 character with the Dark Magic and Warrior Specialties. Since they are undead, they have special bonuses that apply only to undead. For example, they use the Massive Hit Die (d12) but have no Constitution Score. Their use of Magic is limited, but different than Humans, since they have no Constitution Score. Instead of taking their Constitution Score + their Magic Score + their Level, they use their level together 3 times. This grants them 9 Magic Points. They are only able to take single actions, however, meaning that they are limited to a single move or attack action each turn.

  • Curse of Undeath: If a creature is killed or reduced to negative hit points by the owner of this curse, that creature takes 1 Constitution damage each day, and once their Constitution Score is 0 they become a Zombie, losing all previous abilities and gaining the abilities listed in this entry. All current hit dice become d12s. They lose 3 points of Dexterity and Magic to a minimum of 1. A successful Fortitude save at a DC of 20 will delay these effects for 2d4 days.

A Fortitude Save is 1d10 + your Strength Score + your Constitution Score

A Wolf is a level 2 equivalent creature. They have Beast-specific abilities, some of which are available to Wild Mages in Shape-shifted Form. Beasts are not treated as having Specialties.

Goblins are humanoid creatures with the Warrior and Beastmaster specialties. They are medium sized, though on the larger size. If it is beneficial for them, they are treated as Large creatures. They are very civilized and are amazing at training animals for any ability. They are the equivalent of a 4th level character.
